The place was very nice. We loved the house and the area it was in. The host was quick to respond and helpful to any questions or concerns we had. An amazing place to stay for a a vacation or retreat, I definitely recommend it. My spouse and I were very happy with it. It was clean and very well taken care of. There's plenty of local things to do and places to eat and it is not far if you're wanting to travel to other nice areas. 10/10 recommendation

I rented several of these homes for a surprise birthday weekend. The Goat House is one of two tiny homes on a large lot. This was perfect for two couples or closer friends to be near each other, share a firepit, and hang together outside of the party. These other house on this lot is the Birds Nest. Keep in mind you'll need to bring your own creamers and sugar for coffee if needed. My friends gave this house rave reviews and loved the privacy of it.

Beautiful tiny home. However I was not able to enjoy the porch because of the condition of the porch and patio furniture and spider webs etc. Perhaps pressure washing or maybe at least a sweep and washing of cushions. Overall inside was clean and had good quality appliances. We had an issue with the temperature but was resolved in a timely professional manner. I enjoyed my stay.

The Goat House was an awesome place to stay. The surroundings were beautiful and it was quiet. My only suggestion is perhaps some bars in the shower, its very slippery. Perhaps a better mattress for the bed, however, everything else was very good.

We had no hot water in our initial rental at Cozy Cottage, yet I was able to immediately reach someone by phone and had frequent communication updates. We changed our rental to Goat House, then requested blankets which were hand-delivered within 2 hours. The only negative experience was seeing a mouse trap & fecal waste under the bed & although the bed was comfy, it had a metal frame and was noisy every time we changed positions.

This was a pretty place with a really large kitchen for its size. I liked the place a lot. One thing to be aware of: the loft has a nice bed in it, but the ceiling up there is very low - you'll be crawling into bed and there's no way to get dressed up there. I think it's fine for young kids but adults will likely feel a bit claustrophobic. The location is good too. It's quite secluded (although you are next to one neighboring cabin), yet easy to find. Through the trees you'll have a view of the goats at the neighboring property, and the woods is pretty. I would definitely rent here again.

Great tiny house experience. There was another tiny house right next door, but still felt private. The Deer Lick Falls was beautiful!

fairly easy to find! enjoyed our stay there aside from the rain! if u have young kids like we do we had to block off the upstairs from the 2 yr old lol it was great tho.. just as described never had to ask Retreat anything.. navigation maps stops short of the actual address.. just drive a little further.. easy to get in.. park my the black thing in the ground to open gate as sign says. everything was fine! hope to get back sometime during the summer

The Goat House was absolutely the cutest tiny home I have ever seen! and of course we saw the goats😆 the home was exactly as pictured and was perfect for our visit to the caverns. would 100% stay here again!

cute and comfy. got pretty warm and the units didn't seem to cool it down all the way but we just opened the windows and enjoyed the fresh air! they had a book with all the local things to see, do and eat which was super nice!

My son and I came for a quick hiking getaway and loved our time at The Goat House. This house was adorable and had everything we needed! I lived in a tiny house in Florida (before children years ago!) and this is the best utilization of space I’ve seen—it does not feel small at all. I cannot wait to come back to the retreat with the rest of our family. My only complaint is that we did not stay a few more days! It was so relaxing.

My girlfriend and I planned a girl's trip. No Husbands, No kids, just us …. in nature, enjoying being in the moment! This trip rejuvenated our souls!!!! The house has a private driveway and everything you need to just relax and enjoy yourself. We will definitely make this an annual trip spot.

We were staying for a college visit at Suwanee university of the south. The house was comfortable and close to everything without being in too crowded.

The stay didn’t seem long enough but certainly was able to unplug while here. The surroundings were peaceful and private. The cabin close to us was vacant during our stay. Home was clean and comfortable. Just the perfect size for the two of us. We truly enjoyed the porch in the early morning and evening. The Fiery Gizzard North trail is super close and a beautiful hike. Will definitely return and tell others about it. Little warning about the time change. Our phones changed to EST but you’re actually on CST in the cabin and surrounding towns.

It was in a great location very quiet and close to our family that lives in Manchester.

We truly enjoyed our first visit to the property for a 3-night stay. All arrangements, instructions and getting into the property / house were easy to follow. The house was very cozy, clean and welcoming. We enjoyed the hiking at the many nearby locations, including the one at Deer Lick Retreat, the quiet surroundings and beautiful fall weather. The house was very clean and extremely well maintained. The high-speed internet was a nice surprise. We will be back and try one of the many units to pick from.

My wife and I were in Sewanee to do some hiking. This place was a perfect base for the two of us.

The Goat House was absolutely adorable, inside and out. Very well equipped with everything you need. We only stayed two nights; wish we had stayed a couple more. The two nights we stayed the evenings were cool, so the fire pit was great for roasting hot dogs and making smores. We had friends that stayed in the Bird's Nest right next to us and we had a wonderful time. Looking forward to coming back!

The Retreat has hosting down to an art! Everything about the house and the host was great!

Quiet neighborhood off the beaten path. House sits up off the main road beside only one other house so very quiet if no one is in the other house. Trails at the resort are nice and the hike to the falls isn’t easy by any means. Would recommend if staying in the area.

I needed some peace and quiet and The Retreat fit the bill. The house was well appointed and attractive and I had most everything I needed. Would rent again!

This was a cute, tiny home in a great location to see a concert in The Caverns.

We rented The Goat House, and it was absolutely perfect for us! It was secluded and quiet! The house was very clean, and very well decorated, it felt just like home to us! The adjoining fire pit and nice relaxing Adirondack chairs, and we were able to enjoy the fire pit and s’mores! The front porch had a beautiful view and I loved relaxing there in the afternoons feeling the nice breeze and enjoying the sunshine. My two boys loved the property! They enjoyed the playground, and exploring the entire property. The Deerlick trail was beautiful and so fun to explore, leading to the beautiful waterfall. We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon spent exploring it. We also absolutely loved exploring Greeter Falls and Board Tree Falls, and our favorite Foster Falls, all of which were just a short 15-20 min drive from the retreat property. We were having so much fun the we added an extra night into our trio during our stay! My boys and I were here die their spring break and we are already planning our next trip!! It was amazing and we will definitely be back!

The Goat is beautifully decorated and well appointed. We stayed at two properties during our stay and this one was the more secluded one of the two. (We also spent a night at the Alexander) The fire pit is shared with the other tiny house on the street. It wasn’t an issue during this stay, but it’s worth mentioning for those who might want a private experience. The fire pit was well stocked with wood and had plenty of chairs and tables. This was a great feature that we missed at the Alexander. We couldn’t figure out how to turn the string lights on but the property manager was able to help us located the cord that plugs into tue neighbors outdoor outlet. The kitchen had some of the basics but it was missing some measuring cups. It is fantastic that this tiny house had a dishwasher, washer, drier and gas stove in such a small space. All in all I would give this property a solid 5 stars! My family and I truly enjoyed our 2 nights at the Goat house and we can’t wait to plan another trip to tue Retreat at Deer Lick!

We had such a great time at our tiny cabin in the woods. Every person we encountered on our trip was very hospitable and genuine. The house was very comfortable and fully stocked. The fire pit was magnificent. The hike to the falls within the community was spectacular! The cave tour was awesome. (Especially our guide). There were plenty of food options around and we did not have a single bad meal. We will definitely be returning and we cannot wait bring others along to experience this hidden gem.

We enjoyed our short time in the “Goat House”. Perfect little place in the woods to retreat to after hiking all day. The place was cozy and comfortable. After just a one night stay we would return in the future to spend more time in a Tiny House.

The Goat House was a perfect spot to stay for a concert at the Caverns. Very clean and all amenities needed were available. I would recommend a walk on the trail inside the community to the beautiful waterfall!

With the exception of 5am wake-up calls from a neighborhood rooster, this property was amazing. There were just two of us, in town for a concert at The Caverns, and it was the perfect distance from the venue. The property and house were both clean, cool, quaint, and quiet. Highly recommended!

Love the Goat House! It’s the perfect place to get away to recharge your batteries and refresh your soul. Nice wooded setting, enjoyed cooking on the grill and eating around the fire in the fire pit. The twinkle lights are a perfect touch. My first time in a tiny house. I can’t believe how spacious it feels. Very well appointed with full-size appliances, including a washer and dryer! Tastefully decorated and stocked with everything you need. I Loved it so much, I booked two more weeks in different homes in the Retreat at Deer Lick! Highly recommend!

We absolutely adored this house and the Retreat at Deer Lick Falls tiny home community! The house was so cute, and we loved all of the tiny home community’s amenities, such as the fire pits and on-site trails (including a waterfall). The location was great for going to downtown Monteagle and South Cumberland State Park. The Goat House and tiny home community made our girls trip absolutely perfect. Hoping to come back in the future!

The home was exactly as it was listed. We found the space to be plenty for just the two of us. The loft is small and would be perfect for younger kids. There is a Keurig as well as a drip coffee pot which is really nice. The kitchen has everything you need and there is a charcoal grill on the deck. Lots of trails in the area as well as a trail with a waterfall at the back of the property .

This was the perfect place to go and just relax and reset. The Goat House was perfect! My family and I will definitely be returning.

The Goat House is such a cute and comfortable home!! Nestled in the woods with a spacious covered porch, the size is much larger than expected. The vaulted ceilings make you feel like you have lots of room. Comfortable living room with sectional couch, kitchen with full size appliances, laundry, and a bathroom with endless hot water. It was such a relaxing retreat. We also walked the trail in the complex and enjoyed the waterfall at the end. We will definitely return!

This is a comfortable house in a wonderful location. The entire neighborhood is great, but this unit's location is especially nice; it's on the edge of the area so it felt a bit more secluded, and we awoke to the sound of goats every morning. We're already making plans to return.

Beyond beautiful expertly built out and furnished tiny cabin in the middle of the woods with a gorgeous firepit thoughtfully stocked up everything. I'm in love with this place and will return for sure. Super fun sleeping lofts and even modern memory foam mattresses. The wifi was way better and faster than my house even.

This was our second stay during our trip we loved the area so much that we moved to a different house (Goat House) for an additional night. The entire resort is great and we definitely will be back. Plenty room and everything is top shelf.

We were looking for a place to just get away and relax, and this tiny home retreat was perfect! The house was beautiful, clean and very well done. We enjoyed the fire pit and cooked out on the grill. Drove into Monteagle and on to Sewannee for a little while, did some shopping and ate dinner on Saturday. We loved how peaceful it was, and when it rained, we loved the sound on the roof, which just added to our plans to just chill out for the weekend. We defintely want to come back in the future.

We stayed over a weekend and the Goat House was lovely. We had a hot water issue and, when we called about it, we got a very prompt response and repair. Was great. Look forward to staying again and bringing some folks with us.

This was our first experience staying in a tiny house and it did not disappoint!!! The house was very clean and well stocked. The location was a great home base for day trip hiking around the area. The fire pit was a nice addition after a long day on the trails, our kids love it. And the owners were very responsive. Loved the addition of the goats waking us up in the morning as they got closer to the property. Would recommended if you have ever been curious about staying in a tiny home, we will be back for sure!!!

The acorns falling on the roof sound like gunshots. Especially in the middle of the night. If you have spent any time around firearms, as I have, the sound in the downstairs bedroom is very similar to a 9mm round. I understand that it takes “longer than a hotel room” to clean; however, having us put away all of our own dishes at the end of a long stay is a bit inhospitable. Let’s be honest- it takes less than 4 mins for someone to do. But it made us work much harder after breakfast clean-up to accommodate the request of the hosts. We enjoyed our time, but we won’t be back simply for that reason. I recommend a review of the definition of hospitality.

Area was very quit and peaceful. Cabin was very clean and well stocked with cooking utensils and cleaning supplies. Water falls near by made a very nice scenic walk that was very pleasant.

My husband and I spent 2 nights at the Goat House and loved it! The wooded surroundings are peaceful and quiet. We hiked the nature trail and visited Deer Lick Falls. The house is beautifully appointed and modern with all the comforts you would like. The outdoor lounge area was amazing and we made a fire both nights in the pit. We will definitely come back again.

Great location for hiking and traveling around the area. Amazing amenities. Kitchen had all the tools you'd need to make a good meal. Staff was super accomodating and friendly!

We very much enjoyed our quick escape to Deer Lick Retreat. With the trails, there was always something for us to get out of the house and do and always something new to find. My kids absolutely loved being along the goat farm. The seclusion definitely worked the kids imaginations on the trails, even looking for clues to big foot. We really just loved the whole experience and felt nice being away from the busy life and just relaxing with the family and slowing down. The home was beautiful and will definitely return.

This was an amazing little getaway! We plan to go back without the kids in October and do some more hikes!! Only comment on the Goat House is that it is at the front of the property, so closer to the road (but little to no road noise) and backs up to some type of goat farm?? When we return, we are staying in a tiny house that is more secluded towards the back of the retreat. All in all 5 out of 5 all the way around. WAY better than a hotel and cheaper for sure!!!
