Romantic getaways abound in Minnesota, whether you’re looking for a sophisticated weekend of gourmet cuisine and world-class theater or a few relaxing days in an isolated lakeside cabin. Late autumn, when leaves explode in rich orange, red and yellow hues, is a highly recommended time to visit, though it depends on what you’re looking for. Winter offers ice skating, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, so that may be a good time to visit if you enjoy these activities. Be sure to book well in advance during holiday weekends when hotels and cabins fill up fast.

  • Minneapolis-St. Paul

The Twin Cities offer a plethora of cultural activities, fine dining, scenic walks and other romantic things to do.
