SMOKY MOUNTAIN EASY HIKING ADVENTURE
Take a hiking adventure on a quintessential trail with beautiful spring wildflowers or awesome fall foilage and add some wildlife and great views just inside the Smoky Mountain National Park. The name of the trail is Chestnut Top Trail. It runs 4.3 miles from Scott Mountain near the boundary of the park to Schoolhouse Gap Trail. If you have one car you will have to hike in and out of the trail.
As you hike up the trail, you will see Thunderhead Mountain, elevation 5,527 feet in the distance. In the winter it is often snow capped. It runs along the Appalachian Trail and is a boundary which separates North Carolina and Tennesse. In the spring you can see 30 kinds of wildflowers along here. Widlife and birds frequent the area and you may see wild turkey and deer.
After your hike you may want to step back in time and feel the serenity of the mountains from an Appaslachian style log cabin. Depending on the weather you may want to view the mountains from your porch or relax in a Jacuzzi.
