Cancun beaches are generally oriented for families, singles, or couples. Almost all beaches are good for relaxing and swimming. The Cancun resort area is geographically shaped like a figure 7 with an “ocean side” and a “lagoon side”. There is little beach on the lagoon side so it is used for jet skiing or kayaking. Snorkeling is not good around Cancun because it is very sandy and does not attract fish as much. This makes it good for children because of the flat sandy seabed.
